News Presenter - Part time - Dunedin

Allied Press Limited employs over 450 people on a permanent basis across our 15 sites in the South Island.  We operate across multiple media platforms (print, online, digital) delivering news, information and entertainment through our various regional and city publications. 

Allied Press Dunedin is seeking a broadcast-quality presenter to be lead anchor for The South Today regional news bulletin. 

The weeknightly show is broadcast on Channel 39 in Dunedin and Invercargill, and webcast via YouTube for online viewing across Allied Press’ publications. 

You will present all facets of The South Today and weekly compilation programme Southern Newsweek, including newsreading, voiceovers of video clips, and other primetime news presentation duties as required.

A strong broadcast-quality voice is essential, along with excellent language and communication skills. We are looking for a professional and authoritative presentation style, with warmth and engagement. You are also responsible for compiling and scripting the weather segment of the daily bulletin.

This is a part-time position, for a fixed term through until 31 August 2022. The base role is 10 hours per week (2 hours per day, late afternoon), with the potential to increase to 20 hours per week for the right applicant.
