Reporter - Dunedin (Full-time Permanent)

Allied Press seeks an ambitious reporter to join its busy newsroom in Dunedin writing for the Otago Daily Times.

Our newest team member will ideally have some experience as a journalist, but the position will also be available to candidates who have just graduated from journalism school.

You will need to be ready to cover local body politics at an exciting time ahead of elections in October, but will also have the opportunity to cover stories outside this round.

Local politics has always been a crucial round for the Otago Daily Times, generating many front page stories. Keeping our readers informed about what is going on at the Dunedin City Council is our bread and butter.

The ideal candidate will have an unquenchable thirst for news and be able to turn a council report into a lead story.

We want someone who can work well under pressure, is well organised and has the flexibility to take direction and to drive and deliver their own ideas.
