Video Journalist - Fixed Term

Allied Press Limited employs over 450 people on a permanent basis across our 15 sites in the South Island.  We operate across multiple media platforms (print, online, digital) delivering news, information and entertainment through our various regional and city publications.

Allied Press Queenstown needs an ambitious and adaptable videographer with proven reporting skills.

You’ll be working from our bustling newsroom in the world’s adventure capital, providing enthralling video content for the Otago Daily Times, Mountain Scene, The Greymouth Star and The South Today.  The area includes the Queenstown-Lakes District, Westland, and the Grey District.

Your major roles are shooting, scripting, and editing video for online and The South Today, so you’ll have a track record of visual journalism and/or a recognised qualification.  Experience with Adobe Premiere Elements or similar editing software is an advantage.

You’ll often be working in conjunction with other Allied Press reporters in Central Otago, Westland, and the Grey District.  However the ability to work under your own initiative and take instruction is also very important, with the job requiring regular driving to cover a large territory.

  • This role includes some evening and weekend work
  • Long-term commitment to Queenstown
  • Clean NZ driving licence
  • You will need to be vaccinated against COVID-19

Please apply with your cover letter and CV by 5pm, Wednesday 26 January 2022 via Seek or by emailing A full position description can be found below.
